Luciano Lerner Basso is a residential architecture firm based in Caxias do Sul, Brazil.

We work with exposed concrete, stone, glass, and earth. Materials that tell the truth about what they are — no finishes that disguise, no surfaces that promise what they cannot deliver. The honesty of the material is the first argument of the project.

Our language comes from the South. From the weight of the mountains, from the European heritage that built in stone because stone lasts, from the mist that does not ask permission. An architecture closer to Buenos Aires and Montevideo than to Rio or São Paulo. More mineral. More permanent.

Every project begins with the site, not the program. Topography is not an obstacle — it is the first argument. What exists before any line is drawn is already architecture.

Educated at the University of Caxias do Sul. 23 years of practice, the last six focused exclusively on high-end residential architecture.

Every project passes through the architect's eye — from the first sketch to the final site visit. Not supervision. The only way to ensure the project's intention survives execution.

We design residences in Brazil — across eight states — and in nine countries: the United States, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Paraguay, Turkey, India, among others.

International clients find us through the work, not through our location. The language of the project needs no translation.

In each country, technical execution responsibility is assumed by a licensed local professional. The conceptual and architectural project remains ours, in full.

We begin with the site, not the brief. Topography, orientation, what exists before any line — all of it is already the project. The place speaks before we do.

From preliminary study to working drawings, we deliver complete architecture: conception, development, technical documentation, and municipal approval. Construction management remains with the contractor of the client's choice — which allows the project to resist the pressure of execution convenience.

We work in BIM. Decisions are documented. Drawings published directly from the model. The distance between studio and site does not compromise the integrity of the project — the method preserves it.

We serve clients in Brazil and abroad through videoconference and strategic site visits. The mountains of southern Brazil are not a geographic limit.
